Theresa Martin's Gallery Show in Maryland

My friend, Theresa Martin is getting ready for a month-long gallery showing in Rockville, MD. It is at a beautiful setting, Glenview Mansion and I wish her such good luck! Check out the mansion HERE...isn't it exciting! Can you tell I'm so proud of her!

She's a peach and her art pieces are absolutely stunning...if you want to have a preview, here is a LINK to her art blog and if you can't make it to Maryland, you can purchase one of Theresa's collage art pieces from her Etsy store HERE Enjoy!

Gothic Arch for Donna

My gothic arch this month for the Altered Chix group was for Donna. Her theme was Edgar Allen Poe and we could create whatever we wanted around that theme. I chose "The Pit and the Pendulum" which, as a child, scared the be-jeezuz out of me! We had a babysitter one time that let my sister and I watch this on TV with her...we (sister - 9yrs and I - 5 yrs) were scared out of our minds and when our parents found out.....well, let's just say that I never saw that babysitter again! LOL

It was a fun theme though and I like remembering that time of my life. I made a transfer image of Vincent Price in his character but ended up putting the 3-d face and hands over Price's face...it's rather gruesome and gives me the shivers when I look at it so I feel that I created the true feeling of macabre. Hope Donna likes it!

Charms for Paper Whimsy Swap

I just finished the "charm" portion of the Paper Whimsy Fabric Gothic Arch with Charms Swap. The arches have been done for some time and can be seen elsewhere on my blog so I will just post the charm photos today. They consist of seed-beaded wool felted beads and wire-wrapped miniature lightbulbs. How fun! Here they are...

I just mailed off my charms for a Beach Charm Swap...I actually only needed 5 but you know I had to make extras...a couple to keep and a couple for personal swaps. Here they are!

My Very First Row House

...and they are fun! Creating on this shape is kind of like a gothic arch but the overall feeling is different. I'm not quite sure how to describe it but it felt more intimate...instead of creating a "scene" I was creating a "home" for someone. :)

8x8 Tip-In Pages for Dorothy

For Darling Dorothy...theme vintage children, flowers, shabby chic. LOL - guess I don't do the shabby part very well but I tried. :)) New techniques to try...fiber stems, paper beads wrapped with thread and beads. clay 3-D embellishments.
